QR Code in the Teacher Note

For Thomas's Class Teacher appreciation project, they sent home a sheet asking Thomas why his teacher is the best. Figured we'd go all Treece on it, and instead of writing it out we took a video and included a QR/2D barcode on the sheet linking to the video.

Nerf Paintball?

Love Nerf Guns? Love Crayola? In a stroke of random genius we managed to combine the two.

Take Nerf Dart, coat the tip with Crayola Sidewalk Paint, add safety goggles...BOOM! Kid friendly paintball!

We did this for Thomas's Housewarming party, since this was his new house too.

First Attempt at GF Cake

The thought of Gluten Free cake always makes me cringe. However, my awesome husband and many of his family have celiac, so it is a necessary evil. I found I best like Betty Crockers GF varieties.

So for Mrs. Treece's Birthday, I made individual mini-cakes! Thanks to all who were willing to eat them. The sprinkled ones were obviously for the toddlers.

Bake Cake Sale - Had to brag :)

Thomas's Preschool is having a Kake Sale and asked that each student bring something unique and fun to help sale and raise money. Competing with several stay at home moms with serious Martha Stewart skills, I embarked on making something off pinterest. Phew!

Introducing- The Cupcake McThomas Meal.
(jingle)Two All-Wheat Patties , special icing, coconut lettuce, cream cheese, on a cinnamon sprinkled bun….

I used a PotPie Pan to make yellow and chocolate cake mix...essentially making a large cupcake. Sprinkled the top of the yellow giant cupcake with large cinnamon sprinkles to look like sesame seeds. Cut the yellow cake in half (making the 'buns'), and used the bottom part of the chocolate to make the patties. Icing is vanilla with yellow coloring (mustard), and red (ketchup), along with cream cheese icing for mayo. Lettuce is just coconut colored green.

Complete with Baked Apple-Cinnamon Sticks (store bought!) and a Cotton Candy Smoothie and a twizzler straw. Thomas Bake Sale assignment - done!

Last minute Group Halloween Photo

At our work today - in true group fashion we give you the Google+ Plus Friend’s Circles (upcoming social media site) being the death of Facebook.

We are always trying to find clever ways to stand-out and this allowed everyone to wear their owns costumes, or none at all, and still be in a group photo. Turned out pretty okay.

Crayola PlaySand Garden - Ninja needs a hobby!

In between all the fighting and hiding - a ninja's got to find some peace, right? How about a nice quite garden? We wanted Thomas to have a outside project and decided he might like his vegetables .... if he actually grew them. I know it may not be an ideal thought for a 2 year old, but he had fun helping none the less. Jeff and I tried to make it as kid fun as possible - letting him choose the flowers and the food.

We were lucky enough that our rental house has a nice patch that is stoned off to use as our garden area. Quick trip to Lowes (and Home Depot...and Wal-Mart) we got our goodies! Cute gardening set for Thomas, some Miracle-Gro Soil, assortment of plants, and to jazz things up - Crayola Colored PlaySand.

Thomas picked out some cherry tomatos, strawberries, and some flowers. Me - I wanted to get on this garden train too, and bought some frequently used herbs (oregano, rosemary, and basil).

End result was marvelous!
